Our Stories | share your storyThis is for my father Larry and his wife Mary. He worked his whole life as a farmer by day, and factory worker at night. He retired after 25 years, and took on a partime job as a truck driver for a local grain company. His wife works in a factory FT to help support them. In Oct. 2007 he was diagnosed with advanced metastatic prostate cancer which is now terminal. The insurance they had when diagnosed was very good, but shortly after his diagnosis the company his wife worked for changed insurances raising the premiums so they could not afford it, and denied him due to preexisting condition. My father is no longer able to work, and his wife is the sole supporter now. My father is now forced to spend the rest of his days worrying about how to pay for the mounting hospital bills, and pain medications he really needs. |
